Silverstone width
Hi guys looking at getting 35 silverstones, just after opinions on best width to get. They are going on a long wheel base KZJ78 prado. Wondering on 10.5 or 11.5 or is there not much in it?

Re: Silverstone width
dunno about the silverstones but their cousins the simexes tend to be pretty skinny in 10.5" After having 10.5 simexes I'd be going 11.5 or 12.5 if I got another set. Again I dunno about the silverstones but the simex 10.5's are a smaller overall diameter than the 11.5 and 12.5's so it can help if your going to have trouble with tyre clearence and guard rub? Dosent really answer your question but theres a bit of info to throw into the equation

Re: Silverstone width
I would go 35x11.5x16 if you can the 10.5 is skinny and the 16" versin is taller than the 15".
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

Re: Silverstone width
Put them on a 7" rim and they balloon out nicely to a wide tyre. I had 35x11.5 on a 7" rim and they worked a treat on the old safair pig.

Re: Silverstone width
I run the 35inch 10.5 R16 on my truck and you can see them in action on the "Woodhill this weekend" postings.
Mudhog has the 35 x 10.5 R16 MT-117 Xtremes and the Green series truck is running 35 x 11.5 R16 MT-117 Xtremes.
When I get my new set I will be getting the 11.5 wide ones, they are just that bit taller and only alittle bit wider.
Cheers

Re: Silverstone width
thanks for the replys, will be running them on 15x8 ext beadlocks, will need to wait for new stock as it looks like most places are out.
Re: Silverstone width
I've spoken to the suppliers recently and the new tyres have been made from the new moulds and should be a truer size
So the 35inch tyres are meant to be 35 plus inches now
