Hi to all ORE members may even see the odd 4wd member out on the trail most likely when I'm hanging onto my KTM525exe (I sure most 4WDer must think us guys are crazy doing 80kmhr over rough trails)
As I live way down south in godzone in Queenstown a good amount of my 4WDriving is getting up and down the local mountain roads an up on the local ranges 4WDriving sometimes towing the bikes or hunting etc
have owned a few 4wd's 3x R50 diesel terrano's(2 manuals)
1x 93 petrol terrano 1xMitz triton 1xjeep 4lt
My favorite time in my Terrano outside the many awesome dirt tails we have locally was driving to work Qutn to bluff after a massive dump of snow upto a foot in places right down to the lake front 2yrs back
For most of the trip I was the making my own trail as it was first light in the morning much of the roads round Queenstown had idiots in 2wd all over the show from kingston down nothing but fresh sat round 70-80kms hr so was thrilling in the corners..
Currently have just sold my 95 auto to buy a cheap tidy 96 terrano TD27t manual 165kms that needs quite bit of mechanical work...
But as I have such a soft spot for the manual TD27t Nissan terrano's and 4wd driving plan to keep long term and spend a few dollars on making it a right beast ..
be great to know of any experts on the terrano round Otago southland as of the first week of owning my new terrano I see it has a stuffed alternator($395 new on trademe a good buy?)
a clutch thats near it's end of it's life ....... a gearbox that cruches engaging 4th and a engine oil leak looks like it could be the rear end...
the teardown will start any day to get a better understanding of what I have brought ...
