Hi,

Currently running 265/70R15s on my WD21, but want to upgrade to new muds soon. Can I go up one size without rubbing?
Hoping to fit 32x11.5x15 if possible.
I'm planning to do a suspension lift, but not sure if I'll ever go for a body lift.

Max size really is 31's without trimming guards etc. Depends if you want to do that or not.

Going that wide is a bit of an issue.
I had 31x10.5 on Mitsi rims with no suspension lift.

Now have 32x9.5 on 8 inch wide rims with zero off-set. Don't need flares or anything except a body lift.




Word is too, tire are more than 2 sizes larger so a cert is needed
If you are going down that road, you should consder a body lift too. Easy as pie, just a mornings work to lift

I had 3inch lift and 3inch body and 32x12.5 bfg mt that measured in at 33 and never got gaurd rub

I ran 265x75/16's on mine and had very little rubbing. There was a bit on the back of the front guard area but that was about it.
This was of 16x8 with I think -11mm offset ie Safari offset. The truck had no lift at all but did have uprated torsion bars.
FYI 265x75/16 measure 31.5 x 10.3

ohh yeah ive got 31x10.5xr15s on mine and i dont get any rub but more height would be good it seams to drag its arse and bally ouy easy

I had 31x10.5x15's on my no lift terrano aswel, Didnt rub at all. After 2" lift noticed big difference with getting bellied less.

yeah man sounds deluxe , where did you get the blocks made etc i as thinking of hitting up nz plastics and getting somthinng of them being bellied is a bit of a bitch

Na man do suspension lift so if lifts your chassis. I got my springs from BnT for $200. and then you just gotta wind torsions up for front.

I got mine custom made at chamberlains chch think they were 250 from memory.

Made a typo to it only had 2inch body 3inch suspension. No sway bar and was pretty awesome.

The tyres were on 80series alloy wheels with a -14 off set

ohh yip mean , swet my cuz works for autolighen and i can get them of him for 150 so think thats gona be a good start

As has been said, your best bet is do the suspension lift. Leave the body lift for now until you have the funds as you will need to get a certification on top of it.
31" tyres will fit nicely on 15x7" rims with the suspension lift. Be careful not to crank the torsion bars all the way up, you still need some down travel on your front suspension.

Body lifts can be cheaper and yer they should be certified but I drove mine for a year with out cert and still has no cert.

But it totally up to the person who owns the truck and what size tyres you want to run

Hi All, just checking as I've conflicting stories on this. What I have been told that a suspension lift requires a cert, but a body lift doesn't 'yet'. I believe they are thinking of introducing a cert for a body lift. Or could it be that a cert is required for lifts over a certain height?

As far as i know 2" suspension does not need cert, Im not sure how how it is before needing a cert but prob 3"?? As for bodylift i think you do need a cert for one, But you'll probly get warrants without one.

All body lifts require a Certification!

Raised suspension
You may have noticed a growing trend to raise vehicles. This is sometimes done by fitting a suspension or body lift kit.

These types of modifications must be LVV certified.

These modifications may affect the stability of a vehicle by changing the centre of gravity, or they may impact on the steering system. Steering and suspension geometry can also be adversely affected if a vehicle is raised significantly.

Increased tyre size can also raise a vehicle. If the tyres are outside the limits specified in the VIRM, they must be LVV certified.
