Bit of a different day for me today.
Went to go pick up some sunglasses off a mate, ended up getting a tour of a pig farm and wrestling a couple of piglets.
Then went to go see another mate and he told me to follow him on his bike to go round up the cows

was a bit of fun, nearly got stuck a few times (even his dirt bike was slipping and sliding round).
We then ended up milking the cows
Was a great test for my truck as we have just finished putting in the new motor this week

a
HUGE amount of thanks to Simon (sibainmud) for putting in the hard yards to help me get back on the road

much appreciated dude your a life saver

she runs like a dream now...

Great to see you have your wheels back on the road !
Spent the day putting insulation into the roof.
Just topping up the pink batts, stumbled on a Trademe trader who sells off the off cuts, real real cheap...
Cost me $60 bucks and I got about 2/3 of the roof done...
This cleared a space in the garage and I parked up the Prado to dry off so I can set about on Sunday to see where the winch is going to go....

looks like part of a bearing to me.
so pulled out the floor pans, seats and seatbox to get to the transfercase. almost ready to pull that and see whats farked and see how the gearbox is connected to the landrover transfercase.

refitted the 31's back on the truck, no runs that i'm planing on going on coming up in the next few weeks (Been/will be busy with other hobbies and the 31's are fine for getting me to the places I need)
Whale looks dorky on biscuit 31's with a 2" lift

fuel economy is way better though, 10L/100km instead of 13L/100km on the 33's

Fitted the new exhaust today, have hit a slight snag, need to make a plate to drop the mount a bit (unless anyone has any better ideas?):

Even with it dropped this far, it touched on the floor pan:

Had to get a crow bar in there to stop it vibrating. Also on the factory exhaust there is a mount here:

But I had to remove it to fit the new one... This means the front part of the exhaust to the flex joint is hanging off the 4 bolts on the turbo.
Please put comments re above
here to save polluting this thread. thansk

Had a couple of good days at Reefton. Got up Alexander Ck, did a walk up the ridge and found the old mine pits (with help of prospecting drill crew). Three bent trucks for the day

- bloody good not to be me rubbing the stump this time!
Did half of Green hut track on Sun but it was pretty slippery so called that off. God damm those Safari's are heavy to haul back up hills

And then the 'rano steering bent and it went all pidgeon toed.

That took a 3 truck tow to get up the hill - mud, rain, hills, broken truck - another great day in the bush

Went on the Okato Lions 4x4 expedition, 69 vehicles, Beach section posed a bit of a problem. incoming tide with vehicles stuck along a 10-15 km or so stretch of beach. Luckily some one had the fore sight to stop all vehicles going on to the beach, and they went the road way.
Several club members from both Taranaki Family and Mount Egmont 4wd clubs, plus a local with a tractor recovered around 10 vehicles,
