is there any major difference between these two brands?

Hi Brett here,
Motor Tigerz11 6.6hp Runva 5.4hp
Ratios Tigerz11 187.2:1 Runva 233:1
Both have Drum Brakes.
Warranty is 5 years on the tigerz11 and the Runva is 3 years.
Tigerz11 Clutch lever can be rotated on the gearbox, but I'm not sure if you can rotate the Runva gearbox?
The Tigerz11 Winch has a double lipped rubber seal between the drum and end housing to prevent water and dirt from getting into the motor and gearbox.
I haven't seen a Runva apart to be able to comment on there seals!
Tigerz11 Winches come with our New TG Thompson Solenoid standard and in our new Cast Alui Control box with the plug in wireless remote and hand controller. I also have a few control boxes with 1100mm long winch cables so that it can be mounted out of the way under the bonnet.
I'm more than happy to answer any questions you have on the Tigerz11 Winches
Cheers
Brett

This would be the best model Runva for a Surf:
http://www.winch.co.nz/winches/ewx9500-q.htmlOurs has been used hard and its stood up well.
It has heavy duty wiper seals between the drum and housings.
Hard to beat the 5 year warranty though, thats almost a guaranteed new winch!!!!!
What are the warranty terms??

Runva or Tigers11 are both good brands off winches and I know both of the dealers great guys.
Anyway as to which winch to get that is up to you, first you need to find out what applications you want it for either a small light winch out of a bog or the hardcore stuff and then look at the pull rates, ratio etc and go from there.
I cannot really comment on the Trigerz11 as these wernt around when I got my Runva 10000lb, I have had no issues with my Runva so far and I think this is a great winch, but have a look at the Tigerz11 aswell and talk with Brett.
Cheers.

I have never tried a Runva but have a Tigerz 10.000 with a big drum and so far it has been very impresive. I gave it a big work out doing Maratoto, Waitapeta and Thompsons, hard side back and across in one weekend and once it was stripped to see what it was like inside it was obvious the type of seals fitted to it work really well.

A tiny ammount of mud had got past the seals but that was next to nothing. Last weekend while out in the bush I came across a oil slick on a big deep mud hole and relalized it was a Rover that was stuck

and after tieing off to a tree I winched it out with a single line pull.V8 Rover on 35s with mud to bottom of doors. I do like the brake being in the motor as the minute you take your finger from the button the rope stops instantly.
