looking at the bottom photo it looks like the bar is leaning forwards
becareful as the bar sopossed to lean back towards the bonnet so it "pedestrian friendly"

like any bar is
anyway yeah the bar has to lean rearwards

back to topic yes they sould be designed to lift the person up over the vehicle not push them down and underneath
this has been told to by a cert chap as well as a wof inspector that i know
whether its being look at is of course another issue

Found a little mud yesturday, hopefully find some more today!
Also bought a new air hose for my compresssor and new attachements. but they are leaking air

so need to figure that one out. might need some of that plumbers tape to go around the threads of the attachments, hmmm.
little pic of the beast at the moment

You definitly need either PTFE tape or something designed for pneumatic joint sealing.
I use
http://www.loxeal.com/pipe_sealing.html for all joint sealing, easier than thread tape and very universal, available at any good engineers shop

Looks good!! A little similar to the bar that was made for mine (plug, thanks 4wd accessories) though mine sits forward a little...

I didn't know about that forward bar angle thing.. Has anybody been pulled up at WOF time with that issue?

I sorted out some of the Lada parts.
During the week I got the spare brake discs skimmed (they were rusty from sitting around), so they are ready to fit.
I also pulled out the Lada alternator so I can see what condition it is in, to try and avoid buying one as I have no spare
