D21 Navara Fuel Consumption

Does anyone know roughly what sort of economy a D21 Non-turbo Navara diesel should be getting?

I seem to be getting around 12.5 litres per hundred (assuming my math is right... 50L to do 400km) which seems a bit of a dog even for a 4wd, especially considering how gutless it is (hard time getting up hills in the city and uphill onramps are a nightmare, holding up semis etc lol)...

I'm wondering if there is an issue causing lack of power and over use of fuel or if I'm just too used to my 2wd Hilux diesel of a similar vintage which is much better in both departments...

I suspect turbo conversion may help, or at least help it to actually get up a hill so that is a plan for the near future but in the meantime just wanting to know if it is normal or not

Slap a turbo on and it will help both aspects! I would say that 12,5l per 100 isnt too bad, my turbo terrano does 15l per 100kms.... something is wrong there though.

mine bounced around 10 ltr to 100ks,till a trailer was attached then I didn't count

Yeah that's more what I was expecting, could be that the alignment and horrible retreads are causing issue, will hopefully have new wheels and tyres this week fingers crossed. Might have to get the timing and whatnot checked out... wouldn't be so bad if it made some power and used gas lol

I got 430 km non turbo open road driving.
and 430 km with turbo towing a race car for 250km and the rest around town driving.
