Diesel Engine Conversion

hey guys,
thinking about slightly more low down power and was thinking of putting in a larger diesel engine into the surf.

does anyone know what mods would be required to fit either a 1HDT out of a VX landcruiser i think? or possibly a B series engine such as a 2B?

havent found a cheap one basically..have found a couple of cheap 2B's and also a cheap 1HDT,

though apart from modifying engine mounts, how much else work is involved in the 1kz-te? bellhousing?

Pretty sure you'll find the B and H series diesels way too big for a Hilux engine bay... seem to recall being told the B's are too high, and the H's are too long...

1KZ would be a good option, but not cheap... but then no god diesel engine will be cheap.

2JZ Supra petrol option? :)

1HDT has been done (remember reading some time back about a guy in Aus running one with the landcruiser auto); however, it involved major reconstructive surgery, was never intended for cert, and only ever served as an engineering show pony. Can only imagine the weight on the front end!

Go the 1KZ-TE ... very good buy going here at the moment (one can easily spend this sort of dollar on a head repair alone):

theres a guy in nelson with 160rw.kw in a ute that spins 36inch simexs in 3rd gear up a hill in the dry :shock: it is sick used to work with him on trucks and now i think he builds durhams race truck engines :wink:

you get put off v8s when you get 450-500 nm from a 4cyl diesel wouldent you :?:
