Hi guys been having issues with the windows on my KZJ78, bit much water in them over the years, drivers window just gave up the ghost. What I would like to know is are these able to be rebuilt cheaply, or is it a replacement job?
Or plan B is it easy to do a manual winder swap without to must issue or will this be a major to?
Any help or advise would be great
Thanks
Mike

I had issues with my windows, pulled the switches to bits and it was just real dirty contacts, was pretty finicky to get apart, but an easy fix though.

I had the front passenger one give up the ghost, was the switch.
When it went it also didn't work from the drivers. Was a cold drive home from Maratoto.....
Power must go thru it??
Anyhow I took all of them apart and cleaned off the carbon on the contacts.
All good now.

Can someone tell what is wrong with my driver window, when a strong wind hits across the truck ie from right to left side . If I try to close the window it will come up but the wind can push the glass in n off it's track. My pax one don't do that.

Need to pull off the door card and check if the tracks / guides are ok.
Sometimes they come loose and move..

I did the switches a while back, tried to power the window direct which I did last time to close the window then did the switch block. this time think its the actual window motor.

A manual winder would bolt straight in. Good safe option if you do deep water crossings and things go pearshaped

hi sorry post is a bit late but i had this same issue it took me ages to figure it out it turned out there is a rubber trim inside the window track that came loose and fell into the bottom of the door just take your door card off and glue it back in with silicone with the window up then put the window down while the silicone dries hope this helps

If your looking for a new motor/reg the doors with the quarter glass use a different reg set up to the full size glass doors , if you have a full glass the manual window reg will bolt straight into the door and work then no elec probs
