It's easy to bounce on the limiter in first. i never bothered plucking another gear. Doing donuts in higher gears gets a handful.

Smell? Takes about 2 weeks for the smell to leave the cab. it's funny. Over those two weeks you jump in and go, "yeah, that's right i remember". lol

I think even in my 50's I'll still be loving the smell and noise.
