Got my DSR430 replaced this weekend with a GT35/TO4 hybrid, went for a quick spin and Im impressed at the power. Im currently running about 19psi but its hard to tell because im having trouble with wheel spin up to 3rd gear. was quite good to hear from my friend how much more power i had than his 1uz powered 130.
pics to come

shame about those dsr turbo's eh,
there reputation seems to go with them everywhere
good to hear you've gone for a proper turbo
engine rebuilds are worth a lot more than the difference between a cheap turbo and a decent one

The DSR wasn't to fault, it was a combination of me stuffing up and wrong turbo application.
I would have kept the DSR430 if I could have found a smaller exhaust housing for it..

I bet you double checked for foreign objects in everything
Best of luck with it. How are the EGT's now?
You'll just have to wait for the road to dry out to stop the wheel spin
Cheers,

Cheers,
What i realised afterwards was i have 4wd
But yes I triple checked, im also currently removing the sump to add a better oil return as I also think this was adding to the oiling issue. I thought it was big enough but i had a bottle neck
Sump removal sucks..

I used a stock 2L-TE exhaust manifold, Made an adaptor to suit T3, fitted a custom built turbo.. Has enough power for now.. Until i get everything else done.

Kiwiterrano: Honestly as soon as I put my stock CT20 on to the 5L it had as much if not more power than a 1KZ, its a awesome conversion.

Right after fixing the oil return line my truck is running pretty much perfect, max EGT 500 deg.
The new turbo is quite big, gives everyone the fear LOL
Now next mission is to fit aqua-mist using pure methanol to provide more fuel at about 12psi. Oh and to utilize the cooling benefits LOL.

Ive never seen a 5L pump in bits but do they have a pressure sensor etc? Or do you need to get a boost compensator? sounds like a sweet build, with a lot of power, and like your pump is somehow tuned to perfection that its not over fueeling all the time. be keen to know what you've done to it.

Dayne; I wasn't able to get any pics over the weekend cause my wife had the camera and she was away, but i have tomorrow off and I should be able to get something..
Oh, and i might be needing something a little bigger for another project, but that's hush hush..
WILLFERRIS; hey mate, the 5L pump is a non compensated pump, it does puff the tiniest bit of smoke before the onset of boost but you cant hardly see it.
once you get the exhaust wheel/ housing combo sorted it cant over fuel once on boost just because more fuel it runs the more boost it runs to compensate because im not using a wastegate.
That and the fact my exhaust wheel is 6mm bigger than the stock on it is allowing my back pressure to be very very low by comparison.
I might have to invest in a mechanical locker, should sort the traction issue a bit.. On the gravel i had it light up on me in 4wd!! try that in a Terrano!! JK's!!
Oh BTW im looking at starting a small business fitting turbo kits so anyone with a non turbo diesel need convincing, come take my truck for a spin, a friend of mine is probably still giggling like a little girl LOL.. Oh and I am a mechanic by trade, 8 years in the job with diesel/petrol euros etc etc.. Just as a side thing when we can arrange time.

Rebuilding and turboing the 5l in my truck so similar specs as you are doing are in my long term pipe dream. Have you done anything to the motor? thicker head gasket or anything? Can things be strengthened at all? How many ks are on it?
Cheers,
Pete

Meh.. I was actually saying that because a friend of mine has a TD27 in his terrano running a rather big turbo and massive boost and I sent that as link to him..
