Hi all,

Need to change the glow plugs on mums Pajero. Its '94 2.8TD one. How easy is it? whats involved etc. I think the engine is 4M40 or something like that

Never done them before but we cant afford to get someone else to do it and last time they did they screwed it up and have screwed up work on a few of our cars lately so we have lost interest in them.

Cheers for the help

Lincoln

Its easy as on the vehicles i have done it one, Might be abit more work involved on your old ladys pajero as the intercooler might have to come off, But basically you just use a unscrew them and screw the new ones in, there will be little nuts on the top of each one which will need to come off first and take a plate wire thing off all 4 plugs. just put that back onto the new ones once the are tightened in.

Deep reach or tube sockets work the best.
I have known of some glow plugs to break when trying to remove due to the build up of carbon. This can be a pain.
I have now got in to the habit of putting graphite paste or nickle/copper anti-seize on the threads to aid their removal later on.
If you want to borrow any tools or products, you know where I live.

Cheers,
