Will's New truck.

Post by Big Will »

Hi all,
Ive been thinking about building something a little more unusual than im used to for a little while now.

Ive been given a 1980 Hilux body, a 1987 60 series cruiser (minus engine, box and pto winch) and im thinking some interesting thoughts..

Firstly, do i drop the hilux body onto the cruiser chassis and slice it off @ the fire wall and the back of the cab and build a 5 link front and rear?

Im thinking yes.. I would like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Oh and BTW im also thinking duel transfers and 44's..

5L+GT35@30+psi= 287RWHP....

What part of the country are you in? I like your thinking, use the 60 diffs under the lux body and maybe 4 link rear, and 3link with panhard in the front? maybe truggy styles?

Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

Hi Mate, Im in Northland.

Yeah I was definitely thinking truggy.. I dont really know what sort of competitions etc I could enter with such big tyres, but meh..

I will have to check with the local club to see if im allowed to go play with them..
But either way i can always hit the dunes up north!

If you are thinking Hilux dual transfers I have adapter kits and levers if interested, both 21 and 23 spline.

Shot Tim, I will be giving you a call as soon as I get things off the ground..

Im going to use a turbo supra auto with the twin hilux/surf transfers. should be sweet.

Oh and mudlva, im toying between using my twincharged 1hz landcruiser engine and 40psi or a twin turbo 5.7 Holden stroker v8.. good measure ..

You may as well stuff 4.7 gears in one of the transfers as well then (just so you get lots of options  )

All mounted on coilovers is it?
