what comp guys [in Aussie] do is weaken the free wheeling hub by putting a cut in it. that way the hub breaks befire the CV and is a much easer fix

Yes nissans can break CV's as well especially with front lockers on, This just came up on a facebook thread, not sure if it interests anyone, can try and find out more if wanted. may work for toyotas etc.

I've just always run cheap crappy hubs to help avoid this

Comp guys run chromoly CVs so they don't break.

lockers break every thing, does not matter what O/E brand etc
you start lifting wheels high and dropping them hard or thrashing them hard in narlly places then they will all break its just a matter of when not if.
the idea of lockers is so you dont have to drive as hard, to get all the "black round things" working with you, not having the one with all the traction not doing anything.
im still running oe cvs and i can tell vertually before hand when im going to break a cv and its always been when my foot has been hard "up it" so to speak.
chromoly are the way to go but its just like in drag racing
not enough traction > get better tyres
THEN
not enough power > get more power
THEN
then break something > up grade that unit
THEN
not enough traction
And so the cycle repeats itself again and again until you decide that, thats enough i will change my driving style
anyway all my dribble is out the door when it come to competeing ah
although the old saying is still true to this day
To finish first, first one must finish
over and out as my finger hurts

I agree why have weak points. Id rather change a cv once a year than a hub on every trip. Id rather replace weak parts with stronger ones, Chromoly hubs and cv's

GU patrol 35s ect.
