H25 to replace H20

I can get a low k's H25 for a reasonable price.
It will work out cheaper than replacing the chains on my H20.
Apparently you can swap the H20 for the H25 without too much hassell. Just need exhaust and ECU. All the auxillary things can be swapped from the H20 onto the H25.
Has anyone done this swap?
What did you discover that I should know?

its meant to be easy. it all bolts up. as far as getting to run aparartly you need to swap a few bits off the 20 onto the 25. and it will run on the 20 computer. look through the earler threads for v6 needed posted by me there is a good link an there

I have transplanted an H25 into H20 boat anchor (TD11 Vitara).
My H20 seized on me.
I bought an other H20 that had water damage.
I priced rebuilding it, and got $2500 just for parts, so I scrapped that idea.
I found an NZ new H25 with less that 40k on it out of a 4004 Grand for $1200, so took that option.
It is an bolt out, and bolt in exercise.
You use the H20 intake system, with either the H20 or H24 injectors.
You use the H20 spark plug system (they are 2 wire, the H25 ones are 3 wires, and don't fit into the existing loom.
my exhaust was rotten, (H20 is about 1 1/4 inch), so I also installed the H25 exhaust (2 1/4 inch). I had to get a couple of carrier hooks made and welded onto the frame under the truck.
Next job is to check out the H25's auto box, to see it it will fit.
I now have 2 x seized H20 motors on my back lawn.....

Yes it is a bolt in job,just swap the h25 injectors to the h20 manifold and away you go,and as a previous reply said swap the coils from the h20 over aswell, also use BKR6E plugs not 11s although this only effects the autos operation if you use 11s instead.
Have done this swap a few times at work as h20s are getting hard to find in good order

What's the deal with those spark plugs affecting the auto operation?
All the 11 in the number indicates is the factory preset gap of 1.1mm.
Mines a manual so no auto dramas.
Still deciding whether to do it or just flick the Zook and get another or a bigger 4wd.

The number in the spark plug code is the heat range not the gap

You're right, but the "11" at the end of the number (ie BKR6E-
11)
is the factory gap set to 1.1mm.

Don't know why that would effect the auto operation though.

you need to use the H20A injectors, if you use H25A ones with the H20A ecu and electrics it will drink fuel like a V8. the H25A injectors flow more than the H20A ones do..
H25A block/heads etc with all H20A electrics and away you go.
