A friend has replaced the rear crank shaft Seal 3 times and 3 times it has failed.Started off with aftermarket brands, then even fitted a genuine seal.Still leaked, The last one was fitted by a garage. Have now been told that you need to fit a Speedy Sleve even tho the surface is in perfect condition. Has anyone had this same problem.
Its a 92 4ZEI motor 2'6 petrol

I have had that problem before with no genuine seal but it was ok with a genuine one.

I would be looking at the PCV valve on the valve cover to make sure the engine is pressurising the crankcase and forcing the oil out.

They have just fitted a genuine seal and tapped in to the houseing so that the seal is flush with the seal houseing, (not any deeper) and this seams to be working OK. Thanks
