toyota 4.2 trubo diesel help

looking at getting a vx found two
ones 24v plane and tidy but pricey
gos really well
the other is a 1990 300k still runs well but just missing the go of the 24v motor
i like it more as it needs painted (have to paint it work colours) and has all 3 diff locks and a body lift , 33s and its cheep
is there anything i can do to make it go better or is puting a later model motor in the cheapest fix

whats a 24v motor and computer worth carnt find any on trade me

tweak the pump. power x2
googole search 80 series pump adjustments... easy as pissing in the bush

91 vx ltd. With every option so. Full diff lock ect
4.2 turbo d. 300 km 150mm spring lift
Getting new tyres today 33 inch bighorns and black steel rims
Going to fit the whole truck out for hunting/4wd

Just want to know what do you mean by tweaked Pump?
I have a 24v LC80 1997 VX Ltd
But this thing feels gutless at moment
