GQ patrol pto winch help needed
i am fitting a pto winch to the swb patrol, problem is i can figure where to put the leaver inside the cab.
i assume its to the right of the gearstick, ive pulled up the carpet and cant see an indent or where exactly to put it, does anyone have any photos or tips? it might fit in the plastic gearboot holder/cover but will be very close to the metal plat that bolts the gearboot down. or am i in the wrong place/side completely?
i have asked lord google but he came up blank for me ... lol

No indent just cut were you want it. I put mine right next to the gear stick. Only thing I found make sure bracket on morse cable is very straight

GU patrol 35s ect.

Hey when I did mine a couple of years back I had the lever flush with the plastic surround. It was in a perfect spot and didnt have any issues. e.g move the red box to the right a little more and start cutting. I just put the bracket where we decided to put it and went from there with a vivid and finished with a drill for the mounting holes and corners of the bigger hole and angle grinder for the rest of the hole. Good luck

Re: GQ patrol pto winch help needed
Excellent advise from all, I've done a few manual conversions and quite often there's an indent or a centre punch where you need to drill a hole, must have only been a select spec that got the pto winch kind of like an aftermarket 'tick the box' thing, I wonder if the diff lock is another option.
If anyone has a front bar that acomodates the winch and is keen to turn it into cash pm me details I'm in Auckland.

Depends what you use the truck for but I would get a custom bar made and cut the drive shafts and shorten them and tuck winch back and up into the grill.
GU patrol 35s ect.

Can takem back quite abit to. When fitted a cruiser one to mine it came back 75mm.
Re: GQ patrol pto winch help needed
Agree that you should get a custom bar built and tuck your winch back into the grille - I often find mine is buried in the dirt right when I need it because the winch and my front bar stick out to much
