safari free wheeling hubs? whats good?

hi all
after anew set, but would like to hear what other people have and whats workd well for them. have heard the new avm ones are ok, steel rather than alloy, anyone tryed them?
some on trdme that look like the good factory ones you get, but brand new, these i think are for a gu, but still 31 spline, does anyone know if you can get them to fit a gq

Yep those will fit the gq. As you know factory type ones with chromoly casings are working so far for me. How about auto ones with the wheel brace? Those new avm ones seem a bit pricey. Do you have anymore spares? I got a couple of the old avms you could borrow. Don't know if its the same ones your looking at but you can get them cheaper than the trade me prices.

yea would prefer not to go avm, realy dont like those little screws!
i think those gu ones are the wheel brace type,they the only ones i can find like them, old ones are real hard to find.
im all out of spears ay, so wouldnt mind borrowing one of yours for this weeknd if i dont get some new ones by then

Go the force ones and latter on when you break them go chromoly casing.

Just go something cheap - if you get expensive ones you will just break CV's and hubs are much easier to replace. Even the factory auto-manual hubs are fine.

i was thinking that, but what part is likly to break? on yours the casing broke, wich would be fine, but if the iner goes then i have to start again. yourd have a better idea what the iner bits are like?

I have'nt heard of any of the insides breaking but I am sure they could break eventually. Go halves in a spare set?

with a front locker broke AVIM , nissan automatic ones, nissan auto manual ones, now have 4wdbits ones still going so far

yup. They been fine on mine after the manualised autos crapped out too.

$400, what pirates. They are the force ones from the looks $180 is pretty sharp.

They do look like force ones same wrapping, As Swamped said thats a sharp price.

wanna try them? I could get a couple of samples to try out but would need some one to test them, the sample ones would be cheaper again.
