Gidday,
I have brought an 85 Hilux and the 4wd light does not come up on the dash (assuming that there is one).
The 4wd engages fine, in both high and low, but no light.
Could it possibly just be a blown bulb/fuse?
Any ideas....

check the switch at the transfer case too

I had the same problem. Turned out my vacuum hoses where mixed up
