hi i have a little truck with a 4jb1 engine non turbo, it white smokes on start up and misses a bit but glow plugs are good, could this be injectors?? also can i bolt a turbo on from a turbo 4jb1?? and just adjust injector pump?

white smoke? is it using any water? to me it sounds like it has water sitting in the cylinders could be head gasket, get it checked.

not sure if the the non turbo internals diff to the turbo model. if you do turb it use the turb injector pump . check out www.clubisuzu.com that place is a wealth of knowledge on isuzu stuff

have you checked the glows are getting voltage as well as testing the individual glow plugs ?

good idea. ill do that, ill also check comprestion, the full story is we owned this truck about 3 years ago and after changing the oil on start up it smoked white and was missing, so i changed oil again and still the same it has been like this ever since, after about two years i got the truck back but want to get it sorted,

the other thing is if its leaking oil out of the turbo. evaporating oil in the exhaust comes out white.

this is a non turbo one,

isuzu turbo question for a non turbo.....

otherwise try exhaust valve leaking oil.
