Hi buddy,

I have just finished doing my balljoints this weekend gone, and I found the only way to remove the CV axle, was to remove the upper balljoint, and then wriggle the axle out of the hub/disc. There wasn't much room, but I managed to do it.

You need to undo both top and bottom ball joint, undo half shaft at the diff, undo shock and pull out of way, pull the whole knuckle out. I find this the easiest way as you DO NOT damage the boot and you can work with it all in a vice on bench. More work but worth it.
