245 hemi air intake size??

Post by andy3542 »

getting a custom air intake made up so i can move the air filter to between the wheel arch and the firewall. ill eventually run a snorkel.

the carbs has a 5" intake hole. does it make any difference really if i get a 4"pipe off the side which will reduce to 3" as it gets to the air filter. or should i just get 3" as the snorkel will realistically be 2.5" or 3"

its a 4L straight 6 for those of you who don't know

i know snorkels reduce performance generally so i want to keep as much air to the engine as possible.

cheers

bro, more work, but twin 3" would be good.

that's my useless suggestion for the day.

A single 4" will flow more than twin 3"

But a single 3" should flow plenty of air sor what you want

twin snorkels would be nice but they'd look stupid on a series landy...

yeah I'm going 4" and snorkel size will have to be sorted later, when funds arise. i got the offer to make up the intake bit for free so i wasn't going to say no and i thought bigger will be better. it'll also keep the air filter cleaner in the time being and reduce my chance of hydrolocking it.
