Where can I go to get some recovery hooks mounted?

Post by mike77 »

Hi all,

Just put on a towbar on the Mitsi Challenger, with the intention of bolting a recovery hook to it. (Still getting sorted to get on some Manukau club trips)

but I'm a bit "yeah nah" on the whole idea, as it seems there is no where on the bar or bracket that seems ideal to me anyway. And I am no welder.

Is there a company or good bugga out there that anyone can recommend to me. Preferably south auckland if possible.

Cheers
Mike

The only issue with using the tow bar is to ensure the towbar itself it properly mounted.
I have seen it time and time again where either bull bars or tow bars are pulled out of the truck cause they weren't mounted properly for the type of abuse we give them.

most clubs seem to have their own variations and definitions of whats acceptable and what isnt so it might not be a bad idea to ask the Manukau guys how they would like to see them mounted

yes go and see there club captain as then if there any "discussion" about it you can say who told you to do what. there is plenty of guys there that know how to glue and nail steel together if just a case of asking

Cheers all.

Thanks for the advice and photos.

Will catch up on Saturday at Onewhero for the bridge thing, and I'll see ya in person then.
Have only spoken to Peter's answer phone, but I'll track him down and find out where to go on Sat.

See ya then.
