terrano snorkel build

having had some close calls I have decided to put a snorkel on my vg30 terrano.
Im keen to hear from others who have built snorkels about issues they ran into and any advise would be appreciated

heres a quick mockup of my plan at this stage quickly thrown together in maya (I dont have autocad)



so the plan is put as much of the snorkel as I can under the panel work to protect it.
the red thing is an accessible leaf/water/whatever-gets-down-the-top trap with a gauze screen to stop bits getting sucked further up

I will need to get a suitable air cleaner for it as well as it currently has a pod filter.

This guy here is cheaper hat and cheaper in freight, I have just got one and it's pretty darn good

You can buy the hats from BNT aswell.

i reckon going behind guard is good as i have done this and it came up at the top of the guard where a bit was cut out to put some flexy hose will post a pic for you tomorrow

I'm thinking flexi hose inside the body if I can find some with a suitable temp rating. Anyone have any idea how hot an air intake gets pre filter?

Also I'm thinking about the size of the intake as there is about 2-2.5 meters of pipe work between inlet and the manifold what size ducting should i be using?
