Im wanting to put some breathers on the hilux,
does anyone do a off the shelf kit?
Or am I best to get some parts and do it myself?
I know peter munro in chch can do it for about 200 bucks just wanting a cheaper option

Re: Diff breathers
Go to super cheap and buy some fuel hose (it cost me like 5 a meter I think, maybe less) and just run them where you like. I put all mine into a sealed container with a filter on it (which means if it gets drowned it will have to fill the container through the filter before it can run down the pipes into the diff/gearbox.
Soon Im going to hook up a positive pressure pump to them.

Go down to hose supplies on blenhiem, and get a couple of the 90degree air fittings and plastic hose, screw the fitting into your diff then then push the hose into the fitting and run it as high as you like.

Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

Re: Diff breathers
was going to run them both up to the fire wall and then once i have my custom air box will plum them into that
Re: Diff breathers
I think I have some hose left over from when I did the breathers on my Terrano that you can have if you like.

Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

Re: Diff breathers
Yep sounds good, you don't really want them in the air box though as it'll be under negative pressure and will suck water in through the seals in your diff, which is quite the opposite to what you want to do.
