Izuzu bighorn 1992 3.1 diesel motor wanted

Hi

I am after a Izuzu bighorn 1992 3.1 diesel motor with turbo. My one got fryed last weekend and was wanting a recond one for my Izuzu, does anyone know where I can get one from that has been recond so I know it's going to be in good working order and not just a 2nd hand motor that may crap out. I am in Christchurch. So if anyone can point me in a direction that would be great.

you could try isuzu specailists in auckland they have been helpful to me in the past. from memory they do sell reconed engines. wat did you do to it?

If you have the skills of mates with skills Recon yours then you know exactly what you've got ... I did my 2.8 ...I got the local auto machinests to replace the sleeves, crack test and surface the block and head and reseat the valves - I pulled it out, stripped it down then reassembled the whole lot and poked it back in ... cost me about 1k all up including radiator flush and repair, all new hoses and belts, new clutch and pressure plate, oils, filters etc

i rebuilt my 2.8 aswell except wen i put bore liners in i must've slightly crinkled a liner and now piston is stuck in bore and wont turn over lol so thats been put in the "find the time pile"
