Warn 8274/new motor?

Post by petefj40 »

The motor on my 8274 is a loaner. I'm after a new one.
Can anyone help me with info regarding how much a replacement one might cost or what would be the best replacement?
Someone was talking about the Gigglepin dual motor and gearbox setup but to me, I'm happy with the standard motor.

Cheers.
Pete.

Fully Equiped are the Warn NZ agent. You want the 6hp motor off their XP9000 winch. Feed it with 95mm cable and you'll never look back.

If you decide you do want to go twin motor, let me know I can do you one for prob less than half the Giggle pin one. (Race proven)
Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed

Giggle pin housing will set you back a little over $2K no motors (or the last one that I know of was). The add a couple of the warn XP motors, solinoids, wiring and you are well over $4k.

For a replacement motor, the warn XP are faster and seem to have a bit more go than the Superwinch 7.8s mentioned above. Nothing worng with the 7.8s, they will pull all day, just not quite as quick.

Got ours to our door for just over $2000, 6hp motor was $760 inc GST. Great thing is you can increase gear ratios with the gigglepin, standard, 13%, 25%, 40%, 50% and 60% increase of you choice. They are very well made, very happy with ours.
Comp rig: Suzuki Vitara, L67 Supercharged V6 Commie and auto, Prado chassis and diffs. Gigglepin 8274 twin motor rear mounted winch, air free spools, 35" Silverstones, ect
