another terrano/safari project = terrari

Post by passengerpete »

had a 94 terrano years ago bog stock was going to do it up, then thought better of it as it as it would be a wast of money, so started saving for a coil spring Prado the live axle one kz70 ? or the y60 safari decided the Prado was the way to go for me so started saving......and this is where the project begins, had 8k saved up so started looking around was lots around my price range but every thing cheep had massive kms and looked poked. dad rings up that afternoon dad asks if i wanted his old wd21 terrano... well sure i said whats wrong with it, ? nothing just wants to up grade and the car dealers wont pay much for it so ya can have it for free.
so 1991 terrano for free and still have my savings. :D the catch... cant rely sell it :? as would seem ungrateful. so the plan make the terrano go has good off rood as a Prado or safari.

Siba-in-mud....lol
I have worked out how to get the best out of these TD27's
Good to see. The factory air intake is quite rescrictive and exhaust is an issue also.
Ask away. happy to help.
I have a good gearbox now that is stronger than the stanard D21 box.
Next weak link is the clutch
4.8's lesson the strain on these componants with bigger tires
Will be watching with interest.
Away for a week so will help when i can.
Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

You might want to come and have a look at mine before you go any further. Just for some ideas, it's the same snorkle.

next mod will be a intercooler, i have already made a top mount intercooler using an rx7 s4 intercooler for my old 2wd navara.

so because of the lack of air flow when ya stuck in lo range i thought a water to air intercooler would be the go for this one. so i found an 1992 Subaru rs water to air intercooler complete so am in the process of fitting that at mo
