Dont want to be a kill joy but is it a good idea showing trucks and club logo:s in a location that is a restricted no go zone on a public forum ?. I know some of us go up there but dont think it wise to advertise that fact on here

X2!!!!!

Just say you had some fun at the beach, and post vid's

That's what I have ended up doing these days after Jafa and Co' got nailed on here.

If people really want to know, they will PM you, and then you get the opportunity to vet who you tell

Yea dude, technically its a no go zone. Bad look for clubs to be up there. Was going to be talked about at meeting but #### all turned up Monday. So please no more NorWest guys up there please. Its a pain yes, But it won't help our case in trying to get it open again for the public.

Sorry to be a kill joy. cool vids though

It will never be open "again" as it has never been open in the first place. It is a live firing range used by the armed forces and they wont allow public access. (they are just very bad at keeping people out)....wanted to put a smilie here but i can only get half this page.......picture a rolling eyes one here!!!!

true, I doubt we will ever get access either. It is a dangerous place as such, live bombs are still found regularly.

i wouldn't admit defeat just yet in trying to get legal access. DoC are aware that we want access and are considering it as part of the CMS process and things are changing within Defense dept. it wont be soon, but the possibility of legal access is still there.

Hell yeah, that is good news. When you think about it it's the perfect area for them to give us, we cant really do any harm except for maybe blowing our selves up :D

I tend to stay away from the bottom of the drop off point, and as for the vid's what can I say  I dont usually dont post videos especially with the club logo on the windscreen and off course Phraza who posted them was not aware of this.
Iam sure I will be getting a word from the club members next club meeting.

Just a note I want to represent the club in a good way, if this looks negative this was not my intention.

Had a great day at Murawai beach guys, I got to appreciate the stunning beauty of this country a bit more.

I don't understand it, if the bombing range is so dangerous, especially with unexploded ordinances, why is it not sign posted to represent this from all access points?

Seems like a hell of a risk to everyone out there not to be informed of this.

Yea I know man. It doesn't make sense. But that is the way it is unfortunately. the thing is too that only clubs really know that you are not meant to be in there.

yeah red flags have been used for years, ive been going up there since i was 3 with my dad,he's been going there for 20years before me and they've always had some signage and it used to be in one of the papers apparently, like said above the defence force do a bad job of keeping people out

Ever driven the Desart Rd SH1?
No fences to keep you out of the defense area!
Why then do people stay out?
Because if they catch you in there , under law they can confiscate your truck , use it for target practice and hold you in custody indefinitely , until they see fit to hand you over to the police truckless.
