Hi Guys,
My name is Josh. I have a 1991 Nissan Terrano R3M TD27T with Auto Transmission and 105,000km on the clock. I've also got Dual Batteries from the factory.
I live in Canada, and i joined up here because we dont have to many Terrano's in N.America, so its harder to find info on N.American sites.
I didnt have any previous mechanical experience before i got my truck. i'm just learning as i go.
So far i've added: 3" AC Body Lift, 31" Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ Tires on Toyota 4Runner (Hilux Surf) Rims, Airflow Snorkel, and Calmini Idler Arm Brace.
Some of the mods i've done include: External Trans Cooler, K&N Air Filter, K&N PCV Filter (soon to add catch can), Waterproofed Electronics, Rear Tow Hooks, 3 Gauge Pod (with volt meter, water temp, and oil pressure), Torque Converter Lock-Out On/Off Switch, Cargo Barrier, In-Line Coolant Flush kit, Flat Black Rims, Hi Lift Mounts, Front Gap Guards, and Reverse Light.
Right now i'm in the process of cleaning my intake manifold and deleting my EGR System. I also went to clean the small inlet filter on the banjo bolt on the fuel injector pump. i pulled the banjo bolt and dint see any filter, i thought it was gone. it wasnt until i had done more research that i realized it just may be further done that hole. i have to make some sort of pick i can stick down there and try and pull it out. I'm trying to get rid of the black smoke i see on acceleration. so far i've reduced it, but i think it can be better still.
Also on my short list of mods and upgrades to come is sanding the rust from my undercarriage as best i can, spaying a rust inhibitor all over everything to stop whatever rust is left from spreading, and then i'm going to coat my under carriage with this rubbery kind of truck bed liner spray, and then i'm going to go for some rust protection before the winter (the salt here is really doing a number on my truck). right now the rust isnt so bad, just on the surface, so i want to try and fix this before it gets any worse. the body and under the rear seats is perfect, no rust at all.
I also plan to add waterproof breathers to the end of all my extended breather tube's from my diffs, tranny and t-case and either raise my ECU or place it in a waterproof box.
I want to add a switch on my reverse light so i can control it manually to help with camp set-up, etc.
And for upgrades, next on my list i plan to add a Intercooler (from a 3L Isuzu Trooper), i'm bidding on one right now, Manual Hubs, and i want to add a Cargo Rack asap. I'd also like to add Trans Temp, EGT, and Boost Gauges soon (especially if i get that Intercooler). and thats just whats on my short list.
I've also removed the Running Boards and Wind Shields (over the windows) that come standard on the Terrano, so now my truck looks more like a '91 Pathfinder WD21. I had a IPF Bull Bar also, like a lot of Terrano's, but it wouldnt fit back on properly after i did the body lift. I want a beefy steel winch bumper anyways. I plan to start welding next year.
I've had my truck for 3 years now, and i just started building it up in the last year. the first couple years i was just learning about maintenance and repairs.
I plan to move across Canada next summer, to the North West coast, a rugged, wild, mountainous region. I hope to have my truck built up pretty good by then. I have a ton of projects on the go, and i have even more projects planned, and i also have maintenance and repairs to do in between, so you guys are bound to have some questions from me in the future.
Yesterday i created a thread here about some difficulties i encountered trying to remove my Intake Manifold, and also finding my little gauze filter on the Fuel Injector Pump. i've been told to use a spanner wrench so i can remove my intake manifold without removing my Fuel Injector Tube Assembly. and i thought my little gauze filter was missing from my fuel injector pump, so i was asking if anyone knew the part # so i could replace it, but now i think i may actually have that little filter, it may just be further in than i thought.
Anyways, here's the thread i made, if anyone can shed any light on these topics, i'd appreciate it.

I also created a Body Lift Install thread with lots of pics over at NPORA. if anyone wants to have a look at this tutorial, here's the link:

And here's some pics of my truck. i dont have any really good one's. i havent been out on the trails lately. i've just been working and building up my truck in my parking lot.
