OCT 1-2
Thought I would start this one off I know its early,
Managed to get some new rubber for the truck 33' SilverStones had a try of how they went, they went great not so good on the out come, I have some repairs I need to do on the truck before I can go out.
On the to do list.
Passanger side C.V clicking like a B&^tard.
Steering needs to be corrected as the steering wheel is almost 90 degrees out, gave it a hard knock while at the Pig Farm run.
Brakes need to be cleaned, both caliper and hand brake.
Cheers.

Re: OCT 1-2
I have just got some 285/75 x 16 silverstone sport (something, something) tyres to replace a couple of buggered KM BFG MT's. They are a grunty looking tyre that makes a wee bit more road noise than the BFG, but they were cheap at $300 ish ech though.

Re: OCT 1-2
Well the weekend has started off badly, but it really started before today.
Got a flat the other weekend after Woodhill patrol going home....Near new KL71's big one's 35 12.5 15...
Well got it fixed, needed new tube... BUTTTTTT
Sidewalls have delaminated and looks like some alien creatures about to erupt.
So its dead.....
There goes another few hundy...
And the missus is still in a mood from when I got some Simex's cheap the other week....
I think I will withdraw to my man cave for a few weeks....
Oh well could be worse... At least I have no bubbles in my heater....

Headed up north (Mangonui) for a weekend away at the inlaws and meant to be fishing but the weather is crap so I decided to utalise my time up here and take the EGR out of the Challenger so made up some plates and all done. Found the glow plugs are stuffed as it struggles to start on cold morning but we were told they are brand new and the look like new so might be the wrong ones. When I tested them they didnt even glow
I got offered a set of 33x10.5x15 Silverstone's for $1200 only been out on 1 trip (Churchill will know about these). But wanted the Series 3 landy they were on as well for the same price ( but he wouldnt budge as he wanted $1400 for the lot so told him to let me know when he was going to budge.

Got me a new Paj last weekend

Pulled motor out today, it has been hot, really hot, top tank on the radiator has melted in places.

EGR seems to be a good way to strangle engines... there was A HUGE buildup in the inlet manifold that took a lot of removing. IT won't be going back on thats for sure.

Re: OCT 1-2
Well it started well, took my son to his cricket game.
He bowled well, got 1 wicket for 7 runs off 3 overs & a run out at the bowlers end while he was bowling. He then kept well for the rest of the innings. He held his end up while battings 2 runs of the bat in 6 overs, team won 112-111.
Got home to find some toe rag had knocked my mailbox post out of the ground and of course no note taking any responsibility. Happened while we were at the cricket. The half round post snapped off below the ground. Hope it left a suitable dent in the offending vehicle. They must have noticed that.
A bag of quickcrete and the post is back upright. I am just p'd off that soneone would do this and not fess up.
Watched Tonga beat France, made me feel better.

Hey Mate,
How easy was it to take the intake manifold off? I was going to do that today to the wifes challenger but I didnt have the right tools.
Does the exhuast manifold have to come off first or can it be removed with that on?

Re: OCT 1-2
It can be taken off with the exhaust in place.
It'd be a good idea to block off the egr and give the manifold a good clean out.

Yeah I took the egr out today and blocked it off. As im at the inlaws I dont have all my tools and I couldnt quite tell if it would come out with the exhaust in place but cheers for that as what I could see was definately not healthy for the engine.

No offroading this weekend. Thought the last 3 weekends in a row was enough. Work party in Matakana on friday night, then England vs Scotland at Eden Park sat night. Brilliant game, scotland should of won though.

Heaps of people agree there.
Our band marched up queen st today, but stood around practicing before hand - talk about crowds!

As far as my weekend went, I didn't do anything 4wd related.
But during the week I primered one side of the engine bay in the Lada, after getting rid of the rust.
I've been sorting stuff out for a lift, and should be able to get one done for under a hundy

'Cos I'm a poor student

Haha I reckon if i had a dollar back for every can consumed during the build i could afford to do it all again

And I know what you mean about having a deadline...always makes me get more done
