...in reasonable / decent nick so I can get them widened 50mm to cover front tires. Have recently moved from AKL out to Helensville and the local garage won't give me a WOF (was never a problem in the smoke) and tells me the police out here will ping me $200 each time they stop me. Willing to do a trade on my existing glass guards if both parties happy. AKL / North Shore area preferred if poss. Anyone got some? Cheers

If you take your truck offroad I wouldn't do this as you will probably crack your your guards as soon as you lean your truck against something. That garden edging is really stiff.
If you are just going to throw it on for the WOF then take it off again go nuts. Sounds like you've been driving it a while without any trouble from the police already.

yeah well I never had any problem driving around in the city, but apparently there is a police college out this way somewhere and they often put up road-blocks for 'training purposes'. haven't encountered one yet but don't want to push my luck. as such just putting something on for the wof won't cut it....

http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/Forums/ ... ile&u=4632he may be able to help ya out..
and all ya need really is a good outer edge or inner part of guard.. sorta like ya have two sets of guards. trim the outer 1 inch off yours and then the outer 3 inches off of the second set. attach your guards to the 3 inch section and voila.. was that ya plan? if so, might make findin some easier as they all rust in different places and might be able to make something work....
if ya can unnerstan my engrish...?

Dude, if you've not done any fiberglassing yourself have you considered asking a boat builder to widen your existing guards?
Its wouldn't be hard so I doubt they would charge much. There were some boat builders in the Ville. and there are heaps in Silverdale & Gulf Harbor.
