yes scary stuff that is
i have assisted twice on trucks have have been in the same suituation
a lot to be said about going up there in a small group because in booth suituations the trucks would of been swamped like that guys had it not been the fact there were other around to assist straight away
i glad it was not a total lose for the chap

Would have been horrible to gradually watch it slip deeper and deeper into the tide.

Would be been keen to see him recover it from the end? Or did he just drive it out??
I went up Muriwai a few weeks ago and the tide was coming in... i was pretty lucky not to get stuck. i had a couple of waves come over the bonnet... woops!
Learnt my lesson

That guy was lucky the rope didn;t give way the first time she slipped. Glad for them they got out, I know that feeling of nearly losing a 4wd to the tide, and wouldn't wish it on any 4wder!
