just wondering if anyone has done one? or what the compression is ment to be in psi?
truck is using 3l water a week (not the one im selling)
so hoping its just the water pump or radiator leaking
truck never overheats

You'd be better pressure testing the cooling system to check for leaks.
Pressurise up to cap pressure (usually 13psi) and see where it leaks from.
May need to take to a garage that has an adapter to put the pressure into system tho...

yea ive been putting it off for a while now.
have to do it on my lunch break at the garage i work at.
its got a new radiator cap.
would be good to know what the compression ratio is tho before i do the test

Id say a good result would be 400psi over all cylinders.
I done one awhile ago and got
400
420
320
400
The one with low compresion caused it to run really rough at cold start up, but after about 30seconds it was good as.

done a electronic compression test today.
basically gives ya a rough idea if there's any difference in compression
tests show 93.9, 75.6, 80.8, 83.4 in no order (not in psi)
100 would be perfect compression
hoping the lower one is not a blown head gasket
also done a cooling system pressure test.
pumped pressure to 10-15 psi several times
always drops down slowly.
checked all the hoses, around water pump and radiator.
couldn't fined any leaks.
next step manual compression test
wet test
then cylinder leakage test if we have the fittings for a diesel

If you're losing that much water, you should either see a puddle or it should be blowing white smoke (well, steam)
mine has a cracked head, has had it since i bought it but it keeps on going, just gets hot when towing and uses water.

done a T K test today at work. no exhaust smoke/unburnt diesel in the coolant. still gota get around to the manual compression test
