gme 3100

hey all

i got in a fight with a tree and snapped my antenna i have looked at dick smith but cant find the bit i need.

It snapped just where it goes from big bit to the thin wire (see pic)

my question is dose anyone know where to get one from or will i need to get a whole new antenna?

I always find those types of aerials ultimately end up in two bits and I always try and get just the green aerial part you've showen in your pic without that long base part, they tend to stay attatched to the vehicle better when you get into fights :mrgreen:

I dunno what sort of truck you've got but you want to see if you can tuck the aerial away somewhere where the trees cant see it :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

its in a Suzuki escudo and i probably have it in the worse place (bullbars) might try attaching to spare wheel carrier anyone done this or see any problems with this?

Those stupid wire ones are always breaking. Mine broke 3 times before I couldn't find it on the side of the road somewhere in Taranaki :x
So I bought a fibreglass replacement from a local radio specialist, cost $58 dollars or so. Best thing I ever did 8) Screws onto the load coil (the fat bit) in the same way and is the same height.

Hey you are not the only one who had a fight with a tree, only thing is mine is still intact antenna looks a bit sad tho, anyway hope you get it sorted.

its second time now 1st time was with a old am cb tho so decided to go uhf

3.5db gain , groundplane independent, easy to install and remove (radio plug unscrews), includes aerial base cable and radio plug. $57
