Warn M10000 assembly

Post by wjw »

Hi All,

I need to put my winch back together, I think I can do most of it using this:

We disassembled the brake and I can't find a diagram on how it goes together. Anyone have one?

Cheers,

Bill

Have a read thru this..
http://users.adam.com.au/bendys/warn3.htm
They come preset from the factory.. but with a little googling looking at what they are supposed to look like you will work it out.

I have done it on my XD9000i just dont over do the spring tension....

Sorry to dig up an old post, but the brake on this isn't working right. Anyone got a good diagram on how it goes together?

I recently purchased a Warn brake assy for my XD9000i.
Cheapest was from the states. Local agents wanted a block of gold.
Try Amazon.com or ebay

I called the warn dealer in CHCH and spoke to a chap there and he said it wasn't difficult to reset the brake instead of getting a new one.
I got the two cam parts so they lined up with no spring tension then turned the top 180 clockwise before sliding it down onto the splines and fitting the wavy washer and circlip. Then I tried it in the drum and it looks just like Jerry's picture and seems to function correctly when working the system by hand.
I know my winch was poor at holding under high load before so I'm not expecting miracles but I'll let you know the results with it back in the truck tomorrow.
