Odd trips

Post by Moriarty »

Oh dear, for some odd reason, the Siwsan and I went on the Tangimoana trip. little did we know it was a shiny truck run. There was one wee mud hole that The Twuck sailed through on its road tyres. Amusing as all hell watching people try to go thru even 300 mm mud in 2WD. so i just HAD to make the grooves as deep as I could!
about 35 vehicles, and YUP!! TWO twucks!!! nice to see I have company. Grahams' is the 3200cc version and auto. all the bells and whistles which is why he's got one and mines a Spanish version. manual.

trip was farmland there's a wonderful old farm hopuse and gardens there wich appealed mightly to the Siwsan....... us fellers are above such sissy stuff, though, aint we? Followed by wandering around in Santoft pine forest. Boring as all get out but a nice fundraiser for the Manawatu A&P society.
Will post a series of pics in my album.

A falcon??!! well, speaking from experience, falcons can go places given liberal doses of right foot and ignorance.... but I dont know of anyone who'd take their BA there.....

so did you actually get out of 2wd??

Well, actually, yes I did. But it was for the only bit of wet stuff on the whole trip, lasted for about 300 yds. But by about 50 yds, I was in High 5th, foot hard(ish) down and geysers of mud even off my raod tyres!! FUN..........!!

but however, it WAS a fundraiser, so cant really complain.
Now tomorrow!!!! having a shot at Thompson's, Got a set of SAT's that was Wopass's Papa's offn his old Scurf from years back, hope they is still useable.

This 4wd stuff is fun ok, what a time of life to find a new and expensive hobby!! Shoulda kept to exploring this stuff........
