FJ 70 Churton park stolen

1985 FJ70 SWB, flouro yellow ( same as an ambulance ) paint, colour coded bars on both ends, Reg RRRSE, brand new L98 chev motor and the whole 9 yards of trimmings.
Stolen between midnight and 5 am from 20 Lakewood Ave Churton Park on Thursday morning 20 October.
I'm reasonably sure it must have been rolled away and then possibly trucked, trailered or towed, it was immobilised and very noisy if started, we never heard a thing.

Fark!! nice wagon. Hope it is found in one piece, but given the amazing condition I would pick that it was on someones shopping list.
Good luck, maybe someone saw something and it will be found.

Me wonders if it could be found in the same area as Blackdeath was? Although Churton Park is close to Makara or Porirua......

FYI - had my garage broken into up in Kelburn over night... nothing taken as FJ40 can't be rolled out of the garage (I'm hoping!)...

Already had one 40 stolen a few years back and a motorbike taken last year!

Make sure your truck is well an truly immobilized, they'll be back sooner than later. Maybe get a silent alarm in the shed an a few baseball bat wielding mofos to sort out the low life scum bags

You can't steal stuff when your hand has been chopped for stealing stuff..........
Unfortunalty due to the color I would say this has gone to the chop chop.
Sounds like some bait needs to be planted in Welly and a posse waiting in the shed instead of the mint FJ.

easy to identify theives after there hand has been removed . worked in the old days...
come to think of it I got a mate from england with only one arm, shit better keep an eye on him .......for when you need a hand eh Wemsey.
just remember when your baseball batting the pricks that as criminals they have more rights than you do, learnt that the hard way. personaly I think a vigilante justice enforcement group needs to be formed to fill the gap between the courts and justice. Only proplem is all the members will be in jail. So maybe its not the criminals that need sorting its the government.

Eeeeeep my friend with a very very modified Subaru lives directly across the road from you, seen your truck(s?) a bunch of times before when popping in to see him. I wonder if someone was coming after his car and took a liking to yours instead (his is in the workshop at the moment)
Hope it turns up unmolested

UPDATE.
Got a call from the police this afternoon, my Cruiser has been located in Porirua East, stripped, at a private address. Recovered all the pieces but after preliminary check I am missing some bits. Can you watch out for 4 33x12.5 BFG muds and a new 33x12.5 swamper, all are on white rims with tractor valved tubes, a Warn 12000 lb winch with the solenoids in a remote alloy box and orange leads, black Phoenix Gold amps custom built in the USA, Boston Z6 speakers on 4 mm alloy rear interior cards.
All of you who have been spreading the word and keeping an eye out, my deepest thanks and respect, the support from my friends and the wider 4wd community has been fantastic. I am still staggered that there are people around who have no respect for the work and time we invest , real 4wd's are built not bought.
Now ......time to get the glue out.

Stoked to see two trucks back to their rightful owners lately but the number of very custom 4x4 being stolen has got me concerned.
I had thought that as my truck is almost completely hand made and I could specifically identify every part on it that is no chance it would ever be stolen. When Martin Walton's trials truck was taken I lost that confidence.
There is a paint system where you can spray micro dots with your rego over parts (enabling the cops to confirm they are yours) which I'll look into but the main priority for me would be ensuring the cops could locate the truck before being cut up into pieces.
Does anyone have any security recommendations? Keen to here more about GPS locator systems (standalone units available)?
Cheers.

Great news that your truck was found....

. It's a bummer it was taken in the 1st place..

. Hope you end up with all your bits back. It's getting to the point now , its best to keep our trucks in the shed, as when you take them out and drive them people are watching and following us home and just waiting for the wright time to take them.....

.
To many 4wd's are being taken and its SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That tyracker unit is ok, just be aware that you'll need a sim card for that, and most prepaid sims arent gprs enabled. the Vodafone FSM-8 plan would be a good one for these. basically designed for small amounts of in-out data (GPRS). and about $8 a month

a friend of mine his truck was stolen a few months ago it ended up in ynui,
so i put a valve in the brake line up underthe dash for him so that when pressure is put on through the brake peddle and the valve is closed it locks all the wheels tight
and no one can push it or even tow it,
works a treat as he found out when he caught somone trying to take his truck again.

Just so you know
Brake Line Lockers are illegal to install in road going vehicles in NZ . Even if they were allowed it would require certification as a modification to the breaking system.

i realise that.
its not a road vehicle any way, just a bush/ toy truck
but coz of were he lives and how he has to store it needed something to asure it wasnt going to get taken again.

some sort of drive train lock could be an answer. not entirely sure how to go about it but come sort of interference of th UJs could do it
