5l and turbo upgrade

just bought a 4wd 1999 sr5 hilux 5l and was thinking about putting a turbo on it. is it a big job? and is it costly? the engiines got 260,000 on it and not sure if its safe to turbo it with that kind of kms.

if the motor is in good condition then it will be sweet to turbo. Ks on those motors don't really matter to much if it's been well maintained.

Get a set of manifolds off a 2lte.they'll bolt sraight on, Id go for a tdo4 or td05 or t25. Then just collect the other bits(oil feed,oil return(will need to take sump off for that),cross over pipe,and mod the exhuast.
You can get really good usable power out these motors.
Try and get someone with turbo knowledge to help set it up or just ask on here if your not sure.

Im doing same on my lux, a ct20 and 2lte exhaust manifold bolt straigh on and can make more power than a 1kz motor at low boost
