Hello from the USA :)

Post by shane4x4 »

Hi everyone! I'm Shane, from Colorado in the United States. My family & I will be touring NZ in December in search of adventure and 4x4 fun! I run a magazine for Toyota FJ Cruisers so we'll be looking to meetup with other 4x4 folks every chance we get.

Here in the states I drive an '07 Toyota FJ Cruiser and we love getting her dirty in the rocky mountains.

Hopefully by the end of this week I'll post up on a couple of the meetups we'll be trying to put together. Until then I'll just browse around & say Hi ;)

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone :)
Toyota of NZ has agreed to let us drive the Top To Bottom FJ Cruiser while on our trip, so we're VERY excited for that opportunity!
Our journey will take us from Christchurch down to Fiordland area, where we're going to explore Borland Road (more on that coming soon). We're also hoping to hit Nevis Road if we can find some folks to go with us.
From there we're going to work up the coast toward Picton, then take the ferry across to the north island. We're hoping to hit the beach for a couple of days before our final night in Auckland. I'm going to try to setup a gathering in Auckland on 17 December so we can meet as many NZ 4x4 enthusiasts as possible, we fly out on the 18th.

I've setup a website to cover our journey: http://www.kiwitour11.com, so you can keep track of us there & find out what's coming up :)

So excited about our visit!!

Sounds like you've got a great trip planned. Hope you get to take your time and enjoy the scenery.

If you do get time for a trip up Auckland way let us know. A drive up Murawai beach could be a nice easy final trip.

Hopefully my new paintwork is not completely scratched up by then
