40 series front suspension

I was looking at my 40s suspension today and thought the front looked odd so i got out my measuring stick and found that from the axle to the front pin on leaf was 550mm and axle to rear pin was 450mm so my quick question is:
Is ther any reason why i cant turn my leafs around so that the shorter end was at the front and move my mounts backwards therefore leaving the diff in its original position relative to chassis steering transfer etc??
this will allow me to shorten the front overhang by 100mm improving aproach angle not heaps but its still an improvement

Doing that will muck up your steering geometry but can be done, but since you dont mind shifting mounts what you could do is a shackel reversal which will give you a far better approach angle, itll get rid of bumpsteer and help ya truck flex better. :D

ahh yes a shackle reversal would be good and since moving mounts would be a good time to do it and since the springs will be sitting different could i use some tapered wedges to correct caster angle?

When you do a shackel reversal the springs need to be turned anyway and yes you will need to use castor wedges. Your welcome to come have alook at my 40 with shackel reversal if you like.
