I've got the full toyota manual for the 24v winch. We went through the other day and it didn't say what oil we should run. I know that your supposed to soak the clutch plates in Auto trans fluid when working on the winch. I'm just running gearbox oil in my one. I'll ask around.

i asked the same question to the tech guys at Man-A-Fre in the states, and he said gear oil, but to confuse things someone was advertising on ebay special oil to suit winches, said something about particuliar type of metal bushes in the guts, sounded a little fishy to me .
i guess gear oil or lite gear oil, and changing it regularly is the trick.

or just dont get stuck and dont use the winch ever... simple. hehehe
