Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia

Post by gimmemud »

Apparently I don't like staying in one place for too long
Moved down here to phillip island from cairns last week, only a 3,300km drive.
The boss moved me down here to work on the second largest Desalination plant in the world, it is phenomenal. Over 3,500 people on site and some serious work going on.
Awesome little island to live on, surf beaches everywhere, lots of mud not far away, and some awesome roads to go for rides on my Bike when it gets down here.
The weather seems to be very similar to NZ in just the last few days I've been here, was awesome and sunny today... then tonight it starts raining, and it's cold   The TV is starting to make me home sick though, there are NZ tourism ads on all the time :|

Yeah it's huge, super interesting, some amazing stuff going on. Crazy how union strong they are down here, it's a little bit ridiculous at times.

They send it back out to the ocean, woulda thought they'd sell it or some of it, but i suppose that's another system that would have to go in to make it clean enough to sell.

Awesome place esp for racing. I was racing last year at the MotoGP and the weather was absolutely crap so didn't bother going this year and the weather was crap again haha! Sounds like it's like that all the time too so probably quite similar to Wellington. Head out to the race track it's amazing!

They've got the Australian superbike champs on this weekend so will head along there and have a look at some stage. Although I can hear Crown casino calling my name...
