How do I replace brushes in Hilux 2LT LN61 alternator?

Can't figure out how to pull the brushes out of the holder without breaking it.

I want to make one good set out of 2 holders.

Answer: the brush is held by the solder on the contact.
Melt the solder, but watch out the brush will shoot out a few meters with the loaded spring.

Hehe.

just did this with my 3L alternator a few weeks ago, super easy job, i pulled the whole alt out only to realise you can get brushes out on the car, my bad, i did mind you spend 10mins trying to find one of those springs haha, i found that once you melt the solder to get the brush and spring out, melt the solder again and blow up the 'barrel' to get the solder from the whole where the copper wire goes through, makes putting in the new brush super easy
