3.0 L Diesel Turbo

Post by Kent »

My old man is looking at newer Safaris, he doesn't really want it for offroading mainly for towing and for a bit of work round the farm. He's thinking around the 2000s. He also wants a short wheel base and if possible an automatic.

What I want to know is how good are the engines and the gearboxs in the newer safaris, my 88 4.2 Diesel was fantastic, but he wants something newer, just looking for opinions.

So he's looking for a SWB Gu Patrol/Safari??

I think the only motor to steer clear of is the 2.8.

Sweet, thanks for that, I would go for the older model as well, I love the 4.2 but he wants a little bit more comfort, and as I said he won't really be using it offroad anyway. I think he would want the extra pulling power of the 3 anyway, so thanks, will hand the info on.
