1KZTE SURF - Wont start, leaking fuel?

Hi there i have 1 94 Surf, 1kzte powered that has a few unusual problems, have searched and found that some peolple have similar problems but not all the related problems.

It had a new head and cambelt around 15-20,000km's ago, has ran sweet, started first try.

Then it started getting harder to start, bought genuine toyota glow plugs and swapped them in, noticed fuel rail had cracked so replaced it with a second hand unit.

Since then the hard starting has continued and has developed a small fuel leak that i cant trace! (is dry around top of fuel pump and fuel rail)

The hard bit is, the other day it stopped whilst running, now wont start, it will fire up and run for a second or two then crap out, then when starting it sounds like a flat battery (raw raw raaaww rrraawww lol) next time you try its fast like a car (ranananarnana)

WTF! Do any of you guys have any idea what the problem is?

Is the plunger on the manual primer pump up or down? If its up, try pumpimh ity a few times. If its down, the filter may be blocked, or it might've picked up something out of the tank, makes it seem like its run out of fuel, remove the hose to the front of the primer, blow it back into the tank with compessed air, then prime it with the plunger after you replace the hose. My 2lte surf does this sometimes and this fixes it.
