South island trip

Post by Hamz »

Hey guys, a friend and I are touring the south island ATM and we would like to take the truck off road for a little adventure. Would anyone be able to take us on a trip, small, big, anything would be good. Currently we are in queenstown. And driving isuzu wizard 96" 3.1TDI suspension lift 2", a/t's with good tread 32", bullbar, no winch. Got spade and recovery gear.

Cheers in advance

Also recommendations would be good too

Drive down to Garston and then head through the Nevis valley to Bannockburn, nice drive. Not too hard at all but nice and scenic.

Other options are the upper Mataura river/Robert creek, Rees and dart rivers up to china mans bluff, thompsons gorge from tarras to manuherikia, pylon road from bannockburn to Clyde, Mt bee from five rivers.

Local club is the shotover 4wd club, maybe contact them to tag a long as a visitor.

Thanks guys, ended up going macetown, was alot of fun crossing the river, never done river crossings before so good to get some experience :) Incidentally, my mate that was with me tried to cross another stream on our way to milford sounds and got stuck in the river lol, and the current started forcing water into the passengers side. i was not impressed, but we got out down the river a bit. looks like time to get a snorkel :) again, thanks guys. Appreciate the help
