Hey Everyone,

I'm new here and just brought my first 4x4 so thought I should really introduce myself here before I start asking questions you have all probably answered numerous times before (Sorry in advance - Note I will search before posting, I'm not a complete retard). So yeah, Hey I'm Tomo.

Personal sh*t, if you care. I currently live in Auckland, New Zealand, but its not my hometown (Hamilton). I'm 22 and male, by trade I'm a fully qualified Avionics Technician working in the RNZAF. Other hobbies fishing, speedway, motorsport, music and mountain biking. Previous single differential vehicles include '89 Galant GLX, '95 Hilux D/C SR5 & '01 Hilux D/C SR5 Limited. All manual.

I'm the new owner of a 1991 Nissan Safari AD SWB Manual (TD42). Right now its almost fully stock. Of course it has a wishlist for it as long as its wheelbase. But I'm planing on modifying it as I have the money and get more skilled at putting it into interesting situations (and hopefully back out). It also still needs a name so any suggestions are welcomed.

What goods a 4x4 without dents? I'm not from Remuera mate.. Plus it already has dents from a former owner so a few don't have stories. Hopefully all my dents will..

Welcome to the wonderful world of ORE :D

Have you thought about joining a club? There are plenty around the Auckland area.
What area of Auckland are you in?

Also, dents are unavoidable (also preferable for many)

West Auckland mate, I will join a club eventually, might try get a few basic mods done first. I agree about dents being avoidable but sh*t happens sometimes and things get a bit out of shape so it speak..

You can join a club any time really, there are always a few standard trucks in clubs (eg my Lada in Norwest OHV club  )

Welcome to ORE,

You must stay close to me somewhere if your with the air force (im in west harbour).

Your truck looks like a nice clean slate to start with. If you can do things yourself you can turn it into a weapon on a budget.

Clubs are a good idea when first starting out, I joined Norwest OHV with no experience and a standard truck, have learnt heaps along the way, been to some cool spots on club runs that wouldnt have otherwise had access too.

Most clubs will let you come along on a few runs before you join to see if you like it.

Good luck with your truck, might see you out and about sometime.

Cheers

Caleb

Cheers guys, I hadn't head of the Northwest OHV club but might do some googling. Caleb your right I'm not too far from West Harbour. No doubt I'll see you guys out there somewhere. After all, I brought it to use it for its true purpose and get it dirty...
