have a nissan LD20 diesel in my ute and now it wont start(it sounds like it wants to start),have a feeling its not getting enough diesel.under the ute about a 1m from the fuel tank is a clear bulbuss looking thing but it looks very "brown"(is this normal) then inside the engine bay is an electric fuel pump, these are on manual switchs and dont always have it running(have disconnect line to it doesnt seem to have alot of "suck",if i block it should it suck at my finger?) then goes to machanical pump then to twin fuel filters(took one off and had about half an inch of diesel in the bottom of it,should these be full to the top?
Also tried removing the electric pump from the line and just running the machanical prime pump but didnt make any difference.Has anyone got any ideas what may be going on.
Thanks heaps Rich

Check power to glows also, and if you take them out use a jump wire to test each one works.
Or ya could crack injector pipe at injector and see if leaks cranking it over.
Been running ok till now?
And started fine before now?
Hasn't been parked for long peroid?
